The Balkan History Association is delighted to announce new members: Laura Mesina, Jordan Iliev and Mircea Cristian Pricop.
Laura Mesina has a PhD in Philology, and is associate professor at the Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest. She works as researcher and scientific secretary of the Center of Excellence in Image Studies (CESI), as project director, member in interdisciplinary research teams, and POSDRU projects manager. She is a member of the Romanian School in Rome, Accademia di Romania, and had a series of research internships carried out in Italy, France, Czech Republic and Slovakia. She published authored books, studies and research papers in the field of philology (literary studies) and the history and theory of image and imagination, and coordinated several collective volumes and journals issues (Images, Journal of Visual and Cultural Studies, no. 1-3; Caietele VISUAL, no. 1-2). She is the scientific coordinator of the book series “Text şi imagine“, CESI / University of Bucharest.
Jordan Iliev is currently working as an expert in the field of Science and Higher Education. He holds a PhD in Ancient History and Thracology from the Department of Professor Margarita Tacheva at „St. Kliment Ohridski“ Sofia University. His studies are focused on the history of Ancient Thrace and the Thracians.
Mircea Cristian Pricop is a priest and lecturer at the Faculty of Theology, Ovidius University of Constanta. He has a PhD in Moral Theology, a MA in Canon Law and European Institutions, and three BA in: Law, Pastoral Theology and Theology-Sacred Art. He authored books, studies and papers in various fields of research: Moral Theology, Ethnicity, Cultural Mentalities, European Culture and Identity, Romanian History, Byzantine History and Spirituality, Late Byzantine and Balkan History, History of Crusades, Byzantine Art, etc.
